Roots of the Hungarian Origin
Contemplation on the Carpathian Origin of the Hungarian Language and People

Gyula László Hungarian archeologist and historian proposed to join the efforts of the ethnographers, linguists, anthropologists and the historians the problems of the origin of the Hungarian language and people to be solved. The author made an effort to do this very difficult task in his present work alone. First the old hypotheses of the Hungarian origins are surveyed and many contradictions of them are pointed out. The Hungarian Academy of Sciences is devoted to the Finno-Ugric origin, however many alternative historical believed in the Turkish origin based on the old chronicles. The author then characterizes the Hungarian culture including both the recent and the former hypothetical horse rider steppe cultures. The Hungarian language is compared to those of the so called relative languages as well as in a broader sense to ancient and recent European and Asian languages including the Sumerian, Hurrian and so. Not only the similarities but in a more serious way the differences are shown. Anthropological characters of the Hungarians are also compared to those of Eurasia. Finally the genetic characterization of the Hungarians is also given including those of the blood groups. The Hungarians cannot be derived from the Eurasian steppe, they are the aboriginal people of the Carpathian Basin. In the final chapters the ancient history of the Carpathian basin is shown including the first human settlements in the Paleolithic. The analysis of the language required a long-term closely settled society for the Hungarians that cannot be assured by either of the traditional hypotheses of origin. The Carpathian basin had had a long term settled manufacturing agricultural culture that required a highly developed language. Both requirement are on the same area, it is logical to connect the two ones. This is that the author proves in his present work. |
